1. Who we are
This website is operated by Tavisgo Motors (“we”, “us”), a motorcycle helmet and accessories store at No 96, Hill Street, Dehiwala, Sri Lanka. We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. 2. Information we collect
When you create an account
- Your name and email address.
- Your password. It is stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form, so we cannot see it.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, email address and a Google account identifier provided by Google. We don’t receive your Google password.
When you use your account
- Reviews you write: your rating and comments, shown publicly together with your account name.
When you contact us or place an order
If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, phone number (optional), the topic and your message. The form sends this to our email inbox; it isn’t saved in our website database.
The “Order on WhatsApp” buttons open WhatsApp with a message you can review before sending. When you message, call or email us, we receive what you choose to share, such as your name, phone number, delivery address and order details.
Technical information
Like most websites, our hosting providers automatically process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to deliver the website, keep it secure (for example, limiting repeated failed sign-in attempts) and diagnose problems.
3. How we use your information
- To provide your account and reviews.
- To answer your questions and process, deliver and support your orders.
- To handle returns and after-sales queries.
- To keep the website and your account secure and prevent misuse.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping sales records.
4. Cookies and local storage
We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies. When you sign in, your browser’s local storage keeps a sign-in token and your basic profile so you stay signed in. It is removed when you sign out.
Our contact page shows an embedded Google Map. When you visit that page, Google may set its own cookies; see Google’s privacy policy.
6. How long we keep information
We keep account information for as long as your account is open. Reviews stay published until you delete them or your account is deleted. Contact-form emails, order and enquiry records are kept as long as needed to answer you, support your purchase and meet legal and accounting requirements.
7. Security
The website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, passwords are stored hashed, and access to customer data is limited to authorised staff. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password that you don’t use elsewhere.
8. Your rights
Subject to Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your information or your account; and
- stop processing that relies on your consent, by withdrawing that consent.
You can update your name and password yourself on your account page and delete your own reviews on the product page. For anything else, email tavisgomotors@gmail.com, call 076 666 9980, or write to us at No 96, Hill Street, Dehiwala, Sri Lanka. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can also complain to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka.
9. Children
Accounts are intended for adults. If you believe a child has created an account or given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
